Meet Blair
Blair is a licensed and trained Registered Nurse and public health nurse. She has dedicated the last 10 years working with patients in hospital settings and the last 6 years as a psychiatric nurse working in inpatient and outpatient healthcare settings for those individuals struggling with mental health disorders and addiction. In that time Blair has witnessed first hand the lack of practices that support mental health. Her work now is focused on teaching and sharing foundational, practical and sustainable ways to self health, soothe and support mental health.
With a background in sustainable agriculture, Blair received her BA in Community Studies from University of California at Santa Cruz. She later worked in New Zealand learning about sustainable farming practices with indigenous Maori and local farmers in the North Island region. After graduating college, Blair founded a holistic, and native landscape design business. Focusing on native landscapes for the Southern California climate.
In 2010 Blair graduated from nursing school at Azusa Pacific and went from a focus on plants to people. While never forgetting her connection to nature and the natural elements, Blair’s passion about health is also rooted in science and evidence based practice. She believes that a knowledge of the functionality and physiology of the body systems is where she can truly help inform and discuss with clients, root causes, areas of concern and ways to release tension and stress.
Her love and knowledge of the plant world, coupled with her clinical background are what make her sessions so unique. By combining sacred ritual, sound, healing touch, and practical body knowledge, Blair has developed a supportive reiki session that allows clients to better find safety in their bodies.
She continues to pursue her studies in healing arts modalities, plant medicine and energy medicine to be able to enrich the experience for her clients. With a dedicated morning meditation practice, Blair is committed to attunement, not perfection, in her mindfulness ritual which carries over into her reiki practice. By offering her complete presence in session, healing can transmute from a place of stillness and love.
“The sea, the circle of heaven, the sun.”
Translated by Richard Vallance Janke
The sea, the fluid and ever moving but always present life giving force. The circle of heaven, is us, human bodies on this earth and then the sun. The sun is the heat, the fire, the life giving star that provides light and growth. This is reiki, This is my offering. A gateway into the spirit, the body and the soul through connection to the natural elements, the 5 elements of the body and the interplay between heaven and earth.
